Strava data here. Sorry, no slide-show this time... Riding in the streets of Jacksonville is always an adventure... there have been rides where I have been "honked at" from behind, had shit thrown at me (& other riders), etc., and it's usually by some teenage redneck dildo-for-brains in a pickup or SUV. Today was no different... ;-) Throw in a bad-dog incident at one of the neighborhoods I rode into, and you have the typical Jax ride. But today I also had a couple of teens on the side of the road cheering me on as I rode past, so it wasn't all that bad. :-D
Today was a short mid-afternoon ride targeting the punchy hills of Fort Caroline, but also included excursions into Arlington and Monument Village. A strong ocean-wind made it tough during the long stretches eastward, but made the hills a little easier. It was also pretty warm, typical Florida weather (upper 80's). Nonetheless I struggled up Pleasant Hill Drive (the big hill near the end - 11% average with a max over 20% near the top). Comments are closed.
